I like them. The bass player is criminally underrated, and they always put on a very good show.

One of my students would often wear a Dropkick Murphy shirt, inspiring me to listen to some of their songs. I like them. Nothing like a bagpipe in a rock band.

I like them, met them a few years back when they played over here with the bouncing souls supporting, ive got a picture of me with the bassist somewhere

Good band, and only one of many Irsh or Scottish wanna-be folk punk bands , if you like DKM please check out "The Real McKenzies" they are a canadian band similar to what DKM do, they also release all thier music as free downloads aswell, so no harm in giving them a listen (well i assume they still do, they used to have a list of torrents for thier albums on the website)

They are pretty huge in Boston. I spend a good amount of time out there and they are by far the one of the biggest draws to the local music scene.

I really like those guys a lot, but then again I may be just a little biased.

Word is that the new c.d. "Meanest of Times" is on the Billboard top 20.

excellent band and good musicians too. "meanest of times" is an excellent cd and, i think, shows a maturity in issues and songwriting.

Ken's bass playing sound really good on the new c.d. too, as are Al and Kens vocals.

I've heard about 10 cuts off the new record and was pretty damned impressed all around. The production level on this new one is quite a bit better than the previous stuff as well IMO.

Matt's drumming is fantasic as always too, but that's kind of a given. I'd put Matt right up there with the best of the best of Punk Drummers.

DKM are great as is Flogging Molly...check out Street Dogs(if your into the punk thing), I believe the old singer from DKM is the singer for SD,very similar type stuff..I recently saw a show at the Irish 2000 fest. at the Altamont fairgrounds in upstate NY..high energy show that featured SD and FM headlined.great stuff. Flogging Molly really puts on a great show and are probably my fav. in that Celt rock genere..

That's correct. Mike McColgan was the original DKM lead singer and now fronts The Street Dogs.

I like one DKM album (Sing Loud, Sing Proud). The rest is okay and there are other good songs, but that album is all solid, IMO.

Not a fan of Flogging Molly, though.
