I use FPC (Fruity Pad Controller) when I'm practicing. It comes as part of FL Studio.

I use a Fender B-DEC 30. It's got several drum loops built-in, including several different playing styles and teaching. You can adjust the tempo, key, or both...dynamically. There's a built-in tuner and MIDI support. The 30 Watt/10 inch amp sounds pretty good, too.

I got mine for practicing at work, and it makes for a pretty fun and constructive hour or two. I'd love to find a used footswitch for it...
