Drum machine (with pads & midi) recommendations

Looking into getting a drum machine to play around with.

I'm looking for one with:
4+ velocity sensitive pads
Quantisation
MIDI outputs

Any advice/recommendations?

I've done a search, but most of what I've found concerns purely programmed drum machines, whereas I'm more interested in one which I can thwack with sticks...

what is your budget?

Fairly low, more after something to muck around with for practice than something with quality sounds.

Maybe £100 (or $180) maximum or so...

look no further than the Akai MPC, we use an mpc2000xl, they have several models available.
