| Eh, Neil's wasn't as musical as Sheila's or Roy's. Impressive, but it was drum chops to me, not music played on drums. Sorta like what I feel about the musicality of Jaco (at least when he was "on", like the Joni Mitchell stuff) and middle period Stanley Clarke/RTF days (when he admits they were writing stuff just to see how challenging it could be to play).
It would have been cool to see Ginger Baker, who simply is the most musical drummer ever, in on this. If all you know of Ginger is Cream, Blind Faith, and Air Force, then dig into his more recent work, especially "Horses and Trees" and the Ginger Baker Trio album he did with Charlie Hadden and Bill Frisell, "Going Back Home".
