Dusty Hill's silent bass.

Hi.

I saw the giants of boogie in Järvenpää Puistoblues last evening. They were absolutely great.

But...

How does this bass sound like?

Must've been a crappy moment for mr Hill, as there wasn't a single note coming out from that bass. He played a bit, chatted with the foldback guy, played more, chatted again.
It took quite a while before the black P was handed to him, and the rest of the evening went better.

In the beginning of the gig, their bass heavy intro also turned into a horrible static and squeals, followed by minutes of total silence . NOT something You'd expect from a group of seasoned veterans in touring and PA circles. The vocal tone was also only so-so in the beginning, unbelievable.

In any case, despite the techincal problems, they were great and so were the "support acts" I saw, John Lee Hoker Jr, and Eddie Cotton & the band.

Regards
Sam
