Question Ear plugs comparison

Sign in to disble this ad
I know there is sticky relating to this issue, I even read it, AND I used the search function, but i could not find what I needed. So I hope that is cleared

I was wondering if anybody has direct observation on Etymotic, Hearos, and Mack's Hear plugs. I'm using Etymotic's ER-20s, and they are fantastic. I'm wondering if Mack's and Hearos are any better or worse. I'm planning to buy replacement earplugs for my band. However, I live in Bulgaria, and the supply of musician earplugs is pretty much non-existent, so buying online is the only way. And then the only feasible way of buying would be in bulk so that the shipping charges wouldn't kill me (we vary in number, but lately the average has been ~8 people, so that's kinda ok). I wou;dn't want to buy 20 pairs which will end up being thrown away. Anyway, the ER20s are tried and tested, and they're a safe bet. But if anybody has experience with the other 2 brands, any input would be much appreciated. Mack's Hear plugs appear to be areound 2 cheaper, which is kinda suspicious, but still, trying to check all options.

I tried using the Hearos white plastic earplugs. PAINFUL. They fit so tightly in my ear canal it gives me headaches and my ears get so sentitive I can't sleep normally with my head on the pillow.

I'll never use them again. I hate the sound quality of foam earplugs, but just a half hour with those plastic plugs is a day's worth of sensitive pain.

IIRC they are all the same. Manufactured by the same company that is.
