Ear problem

I have been having a problem with my left ear lately. it happens now and again that, when some ones talking to me it sort of pulsates kinda. hard to describe. not like a ringing or anything.
wonder does anyone else have this? or heard of it? I googled it but cant find someone describing same thing.

Possibly some hardened wax stuck in there. Probably best to see an ENT (ear, nose, throat) Doc to have a peek in there if it's something else. You can also try over the counter products (Debrox is one). YMMV and all that.

I went to my ENT last week to pull out the cotton from a cotton tipped ear cleaner that came off the stick and lodged way up in my ear canal. First time that happened ever to me. Nothing I could do to prevent it.

He charged me a "surgery" fee of $500 that my insurance paid $400 of .

My wife says he charged too much. I said other than him, I would have had to go to emergency where it would be $500 out of pocket.

Hope everything comes out okay.

Hi.

My vote would go for wax build-up as well.

IIRC, only the Mongolians have fluid ear wax, periodical cleaning for the rest of us .

Visit the doc in any case though, from personal experience I can tell that it can also be something more serious.

Regards
Sam

They say you should never stick anything smaller than your elbow in your ears.
But i do the same, I am having trouble with itching in my ears and have to put drops in them to keep them moist.

Try an ear wash kit should be available in any pharmacy, there are drops and a bulb squirter to flush out the ear with warm water.

Another thing to think about is the smallest muscle in the body holds the middle ear bones together, IIRC the Stapedius, it can sometimes spasm and that ringing after loud noises is that muscle relaxing.

I abided by that maxim for decades but I had ear infections on a regular basis. I started deep cleaning after having 7 ear infections in one year. Haven't had one over 12 years.

I started deep cleaning after showering after having my ears cleaned by my ENT the day before so I knew there was no wax to push back into by ear canal.

I'll happily trade 12 years of no ear infections(and all the pain/medical bills) for a rare cotton-stuck-in-the-ear happenstance that set me back $100.

Hey Stumbo, just a little RAZ, and I know what you mean, I have had to give up diving and have to be very careful flying because of middle ear issues.
