Not sure, but i seem to wake up with a feeling in my right hand, like if there were several needles sticking at it (althought not like very hard). I felt it this morning through my right hand exept ring and pinky finger. Just wanted to make sure.

I slept on my arm one time, and it was SO bad that I could not move it. Seriously, it would not work. Took about 5 minutes to go through the excruciating pins and needles to where I could use it again. It's happened like 3 times withing the last few years.

If it's every night doing that, then it might be a neuropathy of some kind (Carpal Tunnel is closely related to nerve neuropathies)

Keep an eye on it. If it starts doing it durin the day, especially while you are playing, or using a computer, have your doc take a look. There's a couple of tests they can do.

Luckilly, for most cases, simple exercises and careful attention to your ergonomics while playing, or whatever can alleviate alot of it.

I don't think that you have too much of a problem unless it recurs. If it does then see a specialist.

None the less, it is a good idea to do some warming up exercises before you play. What I do is:

Stick your arm out straight in front of you with your plam facing the floor. With your other hand grab the ends of your four outstreched fingures and pull them back and up untill you can feel the tension in your tendons, but not so far that it hurts. Hold this for a slow count of 10 and then slowly release. Next, do the same thing with your palm facing the ceiling and pulling back and down. Repeat this two or three times with each hand.

This will relax and strech the muscles in your arms and hands. Happy bassing.

Cheers

I had a lot of issues with nerves and tendons going haywire about 8 years ago, saw a specialist or two, was on some anti-inflamatory drugs, quit playing for about a year, blah blah blah. Thought I was going to have to stop playing altogether but I started doing routine exerices and most of the problems are gone.

Stretching and warmups are key!
