How many here are sick of seeing EVH on the cover of magazines only to find out that the entire article/issue is one big infomercial for the latest gear he's peddling. I want to know about the cancer, divorce, rehab, what's up with Diamond Dave, the tour, what happened with Mike and Sammy. Not how Fender is sucking his d*ck and how his new _____ is better than the real thing and how 16 yr old "Wolfie" is kicking new life into the band.

Eddie was once a god, and deserves to forever be respected for his invention and contributions to rock guitar.

However, he has become insignificant at best, and IMO his personal problems have rendered him wholly unable to contribute to the music industry as it exists today.

My understanding is that Ed got his feelings hurt cuz Mikey was playing with Sammy during VH's LONG hiatus. Methinks he wanted Mikey to sit around, not play with anyone else, especially sammy, and how dare he come out with a product of his own???!!!!!! Thus, another chapter in the sad story of VH beginith...

I'm sick of that almost as much as I"m sick of seeing Geddy Lee on the cover of bass magazines.

Eddie's looking a little better these days. Better than that guitar, anyway.

Hagar said in an interview that on the last reunion tour, Ed treated Mike like crap the whole time, and expressed on several occassions his disgust that Mike was getting paid as an equal bandmember.

Mike's background voice is a signature of that band, IMO. Regardless of his raw playing talent (or lack thereof, depending on your opinion), his playing style was part of those songs, at least as much as Alex's drumming was.

It all seems based upon control and greed. Go figure.

I totally agree. He's turned into one big train wreck of an ego.

I actually wrote a letter to Guitar World over this very issue, the first time I've ever written a letter to any magazine, since they sent me this rag in place of the Bass Guitar mag I subscribed to. I pretty much told them to "quit suckling the corporate teat and get a writer who has the balls to ask the questions fans want answers to." I'll be shocked if it's published.

I did that exact thing towards Bass Player magazine, and it did get published (the issue with Rob DeLeo on the cover from about 5 years ago) over a lame article from columnist Dorian27 about farting in the studio...which I thought was a terrible waste of reader's time and insult on our intelligence...nothing else helpful or insightful in said article.

Pretty cool.

I also could not understand how Guitar World will put him on the cover two month in a row (or almost). That magazine is a joke anyhow.

The author probably hangs out in OT here.

Alot of the turmoil between EVH and MA was MA played with Sammy Hagar also MA had a hot sauce he was promoting during the last VH thing and Eddie didnt care for that to much..

Now it seems far fetched but maybe Cabo Wabo is what got Sammy booted as well.

I can totally believe EVH getting all pissy cause there trying to make money and he gets none of it. And im sure if it wasnt for VH neither would be doing a damn thing in said industrys.
