Electric Bass Degrees in Texas?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi there Talkbass-

Does anyone know of any colleges in the state of Texas that offer performance degree programs specific to the electric bass, preferably in Jazz? Or, a Jazz performance degree where I could focus on electric on my main instrument?

(Mods- if this doesn't belong in Misc., please move it, thanks)

University of North Texas at Denton has a pretty strong music program. Give them a call!

Yeah, I'm def. gonna check that one out. Not too big on the town of Denton, though. Nothing personal, I just wouldn't want to live there.

AFAIK that is perhaps the best option in the state. I'd choose living in a non-ideal town if it meant I could get into a top-notch program.

The UNT program is one of the best in the country. If you want an education, go there. Besides it's only a half hour outside of Dallas...
