In My Life - Beatles
A Better Place To Be - Harry Chapin
Advance Guards - Seals & Crofts
Down There By The Train - Johnny Cash
Crazy Old Soldier - Johnny Cash

Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town- Pearl Jam. I'm not so ashamed of this one.
Me and a Gun- Tori Amos. This is a messed up tune and if you don't cry after hearing it, you deserve to get mauled to death by squirrels.
Criminal- Fiona Apple. I don't know what the hell my problem is on this song, but it kills me every single time right about the 'What would an angel say, the devil wants to know?' part. Wussy.
EDIT::: Just perused the thread and someone mentioned Amy Winehouse, I can feel tragedy coming in EVERY SONG I've ever heard of hers. Those get me. I'm starting to realize that ladies with full powerful voices kind of push me over the edge. I need to go find a Yankovic album or something.

Zac Brown Band - "Highway 20 Ride". Being a part-time dad for my oldest daughter makes this one feel pretty close.
Fleetwood Mac - "Landslide". The Smashing Pumpkins version of this song was playing when I was told that my dad died (1994). No matter who is singing it, this song brings back the pain of that day very vividly.

Beethoven's 9th will bring me to tears in a NYC second and so will various of his piano sonata's. His later string quartets are other worldly. From the pop music front, several of Peter Gabriel's cuts from his 'Secret World Tour' album do it for me especially 'Don't Give Up' and 'In Your Eyes' and 'Blood of Eden'.
Again, I don't think any of us would be musicians if we weren't deeply affected by music. |

This Christmas season, I found a new "choke up" song:
"I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day" - The Carpenters http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhsUh...hNk-bSCHjMZSiw
