against me! (political punk)
angels & airwaves (alternative rock)
jamisonparker (alternative/acoustic rock)
streetlight manifesto (ska)
muse (alternative rock)
less than jake (alternative rock / ska)

comedians i like and have listened to recently:

I would mention some of my music, but with that list, I doubt you would.

HEY!

Wait a second. Check out Explosions In The Sky. They are amazing post-rock.

haha that's cool. It's good to be open to music.

Definitely check them out. Hopefully you like instrumental music.

well if you are into the pollitical punk thing you can get basically any borderline hardcore or just modern punk band. It seems you like the more contemporary side of alternative music so you could try frenzel romb or if you havn't been exposed to it yet old grinspoon.

look into music from the 90's there is heaps of your style punk there

...just checked-
iTunes does have the Screaming Headless Torsos.

I recommend-
"Vinnie" & "Free Man" (crazy bass groove in 7 against a 4/4 feel) & "Smile In A Wave"(Theme From Miles Davis' "Jack Johnson") from 1995
"Word To Herb" & "Smile In A Wave" & "Funk Is The Preacher, Jazz Is The Teacher" from the Live album.

bad brains

bad religion

a.k.a.c.o.d. (fans of bass should give this a listen)

or you can wait for either the new Mars Volta or Dengue Faver albums.
