EQ software for computer?

Sign in to disble this ad
Now that my Boss GEB7 is a permanent part of my rig I need another eq for playing with my computer. Instead of using an external eq I thought maybe there is some EQ software I could use.

Something easy to use and shareware would be best.

Suggestions?

Some questions--
What operating system do you use?
Are you using any recording software that can host VSTs? Kristal is a good free recorder for Window$ and can host VSTs.
As for free EQ VSTs I find the Kjaerhus Classic EQ hard to beat.

Don't have as much experience with Mac stuff but there's probably EQ in Garage Band.

Also do a search over at KVR Audio to find other ideas. Hope this helps.

VST and GUI are two completely different entities.

a VST OR VSTi is something that you have loaded in you're recording or sequencing program that can be an instrument or and effect. i think using GUI you mean Seqencer or a recording program like Pro Tools, Reason or FL Studio. these programs host VST's

first question is, do you have one of these said programs? (not nessecerley any that i mentioned, there are quite a few more).

Audacity doesn't currently host VST effects. It can apply some internal effects but not in real time--it applies them to a recorded segment while playback is paused.

Many computer recording/seguencer programs (like Ableton Live, Fruity Loops, and Cakewalk Sonar) have free demo versions that will let you use VSTs.

Tobybear is a very simple VST host you can download for free...might be a good start.
