ESSENTIAL website nav/menu/info??

Sign in to disble this ad
Im trying to finalize my website for my Personal music career (not nessisarily one band, just my personal songs/any work i do with outside bands/etc. basically as a freelance musician.) and I want to know what you guys think is needed for like website "navigation/menu" crap.

What I have so far.. News, Presskit/Photos, About/bio, Media (songs/vids), Shows (prev/upcoming), Gear (im a gearhead, listing all my gear), Musical Resume, Merchandise (unsure of this one), Contact info, Links

Anything that seems to be missing/would be beneficial to add?

K.I.S.S. is a good motto for websites. I would combine "News" with "Shows" on one page and I would combine "About/bio" with "Musical Resume" and "Contact Info" all on one page. Your gear will only be of interest to a few, and not something all potential clients should be distracted with, so I wouldn't necessarily include it as a link in the main nav bar, but rather have that link at the bottom of the "About/Resume/Contact" page. The gear should be on its own page though, just not in the nav bar. Links pages are kind of last century. It's no harm if you want to have a links page, but it's not something you see on newer professional band sites.
