It was a DOUBLE ALBUM and so cost like $8.99 or something. Those were 1969 dollars though. Still have it!
Sometime later at the same store the first Black Sabbath album called to me strictly from the cover. |

A friend of mine gave me Kobong`s first CD - I did not get around to listening to it and gave it back after a month or so. Next day he gave me their second cd and said "Here, this one has a nicer album cover."
While i enjoy the second album, once I got around to the first one it completely blew my mind and to this day remains one of the most intense and fascinating musical experience of my life.

btw, in keeping with the OP, I doubt anyone would admit to buying that record because of the cover alone. Now THAT would be creepy. |

Thought the cover looked cool, had never really heard Rush before.
Once I started, I literally wore that record out, so now I have it on CD.
Wish I still had the album cover, just for kicks.

They've been around along time. Willing to bet they'll be around a while longer. Quote:

Legend has it that Ginger Baker, however, did have a daughter available that would work cheap. And while being one of the kindest most generous people on the planet Ginger was also one of the cheapest, and nastiest. Quote:

Now THAT would be creepy. | While I agree, there were many of us who were teens or preteens at that time. Don't think it would be so creepy in that case. I never saw that version of the cover until I was an adult. I grew up in the midwest after all...
I see the Tal thread. Oops.. had no idea about that one. |

I went through and bought a large number of albums based on them having John Baizley's (guitarist for the band Baroness and artist) artwork. He's selective on who he'll do album covers for and usually has damn good taste. I've discovered a lot of bands by just looking at who he's done art for. |

Funny how you don't see her on TB.
The kid on Blind Faith just looks Dazed and Confused. Quote:

On the other hand I haven't had to put a car up on jackstands in January when it was freezing cold to put a fuel pump in in decades.
The only thing constant is change. Did you catch Not Fade Away?

That reminds me...for my 13th birthday, I asked for Led Zeppelin III...cooler cover than I & II.
As it turns out, musically I woulda been happier with I or II.
