At my local record store they have a bargain bin I would always dig thru. Week after week after week I kept seeing an album by evil beaver and it was called pleased to eat you with an epic cartoon cover. Eventually I had to buy it on the name alone. Turns out evil beaver is a lesbian bass and drums stoner rock duo and the album kicks ass. Evie evil is quite a babe playing that bass too.

I've never purchased anything just because of the cover. I want to hear the songs first.

Since several people mentioned Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass I thought I would share the album cover. The picture on the left is the picture on the left is the cover. The one on the right is the woman as she looks today holding the album.

(Ursa means bear)

Killer album-Stage Door Queen has a killer intro.

I love how the Tracy Chapman cover is just Kwesi, with no chopping.

I must confess, way back in the early 80s I bought a used copy of Steve Hackett's Defector album just because I recognized the drawing on the back as a stylized/pixellized rendering of Raquel Welch from her recent photo spread in Playboy Magazine.

I'm not sure I ever even listened to that record.

It's been so long since I could spend like a drunken sailor on music, I can't specifically remember the last album I've bought on the strength of just its cover. But this one does come to mind:

I'm pretty sure it's still sealed, which tells you something.

I DO know that I've bought numerous Blue Note recordings on that basis — I heart Reid Miles' designs.

I feel like I must have but I can't think of any specific examples. I know I was tempted to get a lot, mostly because of babes on the cover, but generally reason prevailed. I always gagged on hair metal but Ratt's Invasion of Your Privacy haunted my adolescent daydreams for a while.

Not for the babe factor (though there is a woman on the cover), but STP's Tiny Music I checked out because the cover art was striking before I really knew who STP were or what they sounded like.

I have that LP...not for the cover, I may have bought that one 'cause the band's name was cool!

I just had to check into this.

Dude! Bargain Bin Paydirt circa 2003!

Two nasty-ass chicks, kind of a Veruca Salt meets Black Keys, great grungy grooves! But with song titles like "You Suck! Sucker", "Ass Salad", and "Where's The Beef?", you can't go wrong.
