Ever have a dog who squawks at certain notes on the piano?

I was watching a keyboard tutorial vid on YouTube the other day. When the teacher played the A above middle C, there came the sound of a yelping dog from somewhere off-camera. The dog never barked except at that note. My little dog used to do the same thing, only the note he hated was D. If someone played a song with a lot of Ds in it, he'd sit right by the piano and yap continuously at the top of his lungs, as if to drown it out. I wonder if this has something to do with the resonant frequency of a dog's sensitive eardrums.

My dog often "sings" along when I play, or listen to music when he is riding in the truck with me. He is a basset hound so he has a serious set of lungs.

Weirdest thing,
My roommates dog goes CRAZY when a metronome is used. Even a drum machine set to a tempo.

I forgot to mention that he hated Gloria Estefan as well. He'd crawl under the bed and refuse to come out until the music was over.

When I was a kid, I took flute lessons. My teacher's dog would howl whenever anybody played scales.

We've had a number of Westies over the years and without exception they will start to "sing" when a woodwind is played in my house. My daughters used to play clarinet and sax, and my wife plays oboe, so we've had some interesting "concerts" over the years. Piano (or guitar or bass) doesn't do anything for them though.

One of the Westies we have now also goes nuts whenever he hears a siren. He'll start singing along and comes really close to matching pitch sometimes.
