Ever have those nights?

Where your sitting at home, practicing by yourself late at night. Had a few beverages possibly, bass in hand and you're just grooving. Everything you're playing just sounds like musical cream and you know you're in the zone. I just had about 2 hours like that, its very cold in this room but I was playing enough to make myself sweat. The sweat of a groove tastes salty sweet... and I love it.

You probably think you're great but in reality it sounds awful.

Yeah, I have those types of practices.

But you have to mix that cream with the reality of real time rehearsal and grooving it to other musician's habits.

Cut the guy a 'lil slack, he only mentioned a couple brews, not being drunk or high off his ass.

Wow. That was uncalled for.

Edit: And I wasn't talking about rehearsals with a band. I practice by myself more than I do with my band, I can hold my own very well in my bands also. I was simply asking if you guys had ever had a time when you're practicing and you're really in the zone.

Yeah, I used to do that... just get in a zone, and groove... I had to stop when I realized I'd been doing it for three and a half hours and it was 4:30 am and I had a test in four hours.

I was hardly doubting your abilities...technique, attitude, or what you were doing. I practice often as well, it's just that I always have to temper what I learn to the groove of others. Knowing it in one's head and trusting others in the band to work with you to play it out are always 2 different things.
