Ever just feel fortunate?

My lovely Zon is getting a bit of work done, so I pulled out the Ibanez GWB1. She needed a bit of setup after not getting much play, but once set up, what a wonderful player!
I feel so fortunate to have instruments that work for me to express myself.

May we all be blessed with good music and the tools to make it.

I like my funky old stuff. Been spending a lot of time on the PV Verdine, a fine bass with tone for dayz.
Got to play my main squeeze Carvin LB50K today and fretless and had a blast.

If anything, I'm very fortunate that I discovered music and that music has given me a good reason to enjoy life. Also I'm very fortunate I have enough means to get some decent equipment (but, hey, if the passion is there even cheapo bass gear would do for starters).

I feel fortunate to be able to play again. About 4 years ago i got into a relationship that was abusive and alcoholic. I was forced to sell my basses i had to pay the bills and cuz i was bullied into selling them on the premise that they were useless unless i was in a band.
A year later im with a great guy that supports me playing and just bought me two basses for christmas and a ton of accessories.

I'm unfortunately far more fortunate than I sometimes let myself acknowledge. Definitely worth being more conscious of that, through the holidays and, especially, beyond.

Yes, I'm very fortunate. I have some really nice musical tools and I'm happy to have the drive to keep getting better at using them.

Yeah, I suck, I know that. But at least I suck a little less than I did yesterday.

Getting to play with the same group of folks every Tuesday (and most Thursdays) for the last nine years has been great. That they are great musicians AND pretty happening human beings is an unbelievable luxury.

After crashing out of a 25-year "pro/semi-pro" career and a 5-year break from playing, I'll be doing my 1st gig ever under my own moniker in February. Just doing music I want to do with good people. Feels great. Amen to this thread!

I consider myself truly blessed... a job I love going to everyday, awesome girl, excellent health, great basses/gear, great cover band... there's really nothing I want at this stage in my life I don't already have.
