Ever Shampoo A Tweed Case?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a hardshell tweed case. The fabric is not ripped, it's just dirty and grimy. Has anyone ever successfully cleaned one of these? Rug shampoo?????

I haven't.

However, this may be why a lot of those old Tweed amps were lacquered over, eh?

Probably that foaming furniture cleaner would work.

I've never cleaned one. But I bought a '62 Reissue P-Bass in '95. One of the first things I did was sprayed ScotchGuard on the case. That was mainly to help protect against light rain, but it also seemed to prevent it from getting dirty as easily. It still looks good today.
