Ever sold any Bass gear and regretted it?

Have you ever sold any Bass gear and regretted it?
Last year after my band broke up i was feeling down and lost interest in playing for a while. I sold an Ampeg SVT Tube DI Box, but as soon i got home from the post office i was already starting to think i had made a big mistake. By now it was too late to get it back so i looked online to buy another, only to find it had been discontinued.
I now have a new band, much better than the last one, and an original Sansamp Bass DI with the internal adjustment controls, which does a great job, but i still miss the tone and simplicity of the Ampeg DI and wish i could re live the day i sold it.

All that I Regret Selling

I regret selling the following:

-1966 Fender Bandmaster w/ matching 15" JBL cabinet (guy who bought it immediately drilled a master volume into the faceplate)

-Early 1970s Rickenbacker 4001 JetGlo with checkered binding

-My first Modulus (a black early 90s Q4)

-All three Sunn 200S cabinets that I've owned

Look at it this way; you were able to sell it to someone who wanted it or even needed it and were able to pt the funds toward getting something even better for yourself. It's a win-win.

Crikey what a question. I stopped selling great basses after I found my 81 Carvin in 1988 but before that I sold some basses it's best to not think about. But here they are anyway
Peavey T40
SD Curley
Gibson EB3
frettless Rickenbacker 4001
Ibanez short scale
a strange Hohner, large but rounded hollowbody, all black even fretboard, frets for E and A strings fretless for D&G, 2 pu, a naugahide cushion on the back, it was old in the 80s! gahd I wish I had that thing back...
a white/rosewood Guild set neck w 3 p.u. on/off & phase switch for each
a Sardart Sardar Bros. Bombay Sitar
I'm sure there's another I'm forgetting. It's best to forget sometimes.
I don't regret selling any gizmos because todays' are the best ever (like VT bass, Zevex, Wounded Paw et al) and amps come and go.

Yep!

The first item was a '62 Reissue Strat that my wife bought me when we were engaged. That was 1982, the first year of the series and one of the three years that they were built in the old Fullerton plant. Sentimental value aside, those Fullerton-era reissue instruments are worth a lot now.

My second was a Mike Lull M5V. I figured I didn't need it with the other basses I owned and sold it. Soon realized that it had its own unique sound and regretted that sale. But unlike my Strat, I got lucky and found it up for sale on TB a year after I sold it. I bought it back and it's now my main gigging bass.

My first good bass. I bought a '78 Precision back in '78. Traded it in around 86-7... don't even remember what for. I've never played another bass like it (and believe me, I've looked for one ever since).

I had the Ibanez sr800. I bought it in 1994.
It was a cool bass.

Japanese Aerodyne. Best playing bass I've owed, though the string-to-string response on the J pickup was never even enough for performance (small radius neck).

It might sound funny, but my Behringer BDI21... great little cheap box of rip-off... It once completely saved my but on a gig, due to it's DI capabilities. I sold it and regreted it after 5 minutes or so.

funny. the big one that i regret was the sale of a 4 string 36" Carl Thompson No Frills bass. since then i've managed to track down a 32" twin to it and have a 5 string Semi-Frills on order with Carl.

we learn from our mistakes.

I had a 77 Gibson Rd Standard I sold... it played and sounded like crap but for some reason I still regret it. One day I'll get my hands on an Artist model though... one day.

I sold a HD150 Musicman bass head I had once. Could have kicked myself in the ass.
