There is a story on CNN.com about the guitar. They say it's built in association with Fender but the Fender site says nothing about it.

On the Fender site, go to "Products", then click on "Other Brands".

Cool video.

He sounds like hell, especially since he looks so young.

I especially love how you can definitely hear a flanger in the guitar track during the intro and then to hear him talk about how he's always been guitar>amp

No kidding.

He can't even go through an interview without a cigarette.

I think he's talking about getting his gain/OD/Distortion from the guitar/amp setup vs. pedals or rack units. I've never been a huge VH fan, but damn, he had some of the most awesome guitar tone back in the day. Realizing it was just that old Marshall... There's always been so much talk about that amp and his use of a Variac with it... ratching up an old plexi or metal panel amp gets you in that neighborhood without a Variac. While I subscribe to the theory of the less stuff in the way, I sort of understand people that are completely dependent upon pedals or channel switching. It's entertaining putting them on my gear... "but where's the clean channel?" "back the volume off on the guitar...."

Good to see he's looking a LOT more healthy than he was a few years ago.
