Question Experiences With Musician's Friend and Music 123?

I was thinking of saving a bit of money by ordering a CryBaby of of the internet.

Has anyone ordered effects from either site? Have you encountered any problems in shipping or customer service?

Basically, of the two choices which do you prefer and why? Or, would you just pay a little extra and buy from a music shop?

I've bought ALOT of things from MF and they've been 100% reliable as a retailer.

I have bought from both. MF definitely has the quickest shipping by far. Better customer service as well.

I've never bought anything from Music123, but I've bought a lot of stuff from MF and I've never had a problem. I'll echo the quick shipping sentiment as well.

Never had a problem with MF...have had problems with gear that was damaged during shipping, which they quickly replaced. Good company, IMO.

I bought a combo amp from Music123...great price, fast shipping, perfect condition. I would definitely buy from them again.

Never order anything from either of them that's on backorder. This is when their whole system breaks down. You won't get your gear for months at that point. This is why you HAVE to phone in orders and ask them to check stock.

Both of them have done fine by me. Music123 has been especially accomodating my recent propensity to change my mind after the order -- it's always been "no big deal."

I've bought from MF about a dozen times - everything from amps, to basses, to guitars, to effects; only one thing arrived damaged and they exchanged it promptly.

I will continue to buy from them.

I never bought anything from 123.
