exporting / importing ?

I'm looking to buy a bass in Ontario Canada and having it shipped to new jersey . the bass is $ 999.00 + tax and the shipping is $ 75.00. is there any import /export tax , tariffs, duty etc. ? thanx for any and all of your help !

I've never been charged taxes or duty from Canada or other countries. I think you can thank NAFTA for that. Now that is unless you are trying to carry it across that border, that's a whole different ball game.
