extending my mp3 speakers with... my practice amp/combo?

Hello,

Pardon me if this makes no sense, but the following just crossed my mind...

At home I listen to music on a set of Harman Kardon Soundsticks connected to my mp3 player. I am not an audiophile and this makes me happy; the only thing I have always been unhappy about is the "muddiness" of the subwoofer. With this in mind...

Would it make any sense to use my bass amp + 1x12" cab to improve this situation? Anyone else doing this? If so, how would one do that?

best
