From the article it appears Patton has decided HE can make more cash touring as FNM than he can from any of his many other brands, so HIS tour will be called FNM even though NONE of the original members will be there...

Not much of a reformation at this point.

If you don't see the problem in that, then I'd like to sell you tickets for the much anticipated Beatles reformation gig I'm promoting. Of course none of the original members will be there, and for legal reasons we can't call it "The Beatles", but it's gonna be great at only $250 a seat ;-)

Actually, I don't really care if Jim Martin is there or not. Billy Gould and Mike Bordin were the driving forces. I've also read in many interviews that many of the keyboard parts later on in the band's career (f. ex. "Stripsearch") were written by Gould, anyway.

So even if it's Patton, Jon Hudson, Gould, Bordin, and faceless keyboardist, I'd be okay with that.

A few of the articles about it refer to FMN as "Mike Patton's band". I find that a little distasteful, although I am a huge Patton fan and appreciate the direction he took the band, FNM were a band long before he joined and a reasonably successul one at that!

You want it all, but you can't have it.

If this happened with the original members.... it would be the greatest thing that has ever happened anywhere, EVER.

Kinda makes you wonder what the heck happened to Jim Martin.

Interesting. Another 80's band I've never heard of.

I had to read the thread to find out that "Faith No More" was a noun....if you don't know that, the thread title reads a bit oddly.

From what I've read,

FAITH NO MORE 2009 is:

Mike Bordin - Drums
Roddy Bottum - Keyboards
Bill Gould - Bass
Jon Hudson - Guitar
Mike Patton - Vocals

http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/bla...sitemID=115122

So it's the same as the last lineup they had in '97. Should be interesting!

Nice.

I couldn't imagine Jim Martin was going to be part of things, so this is about as good as it gets.

At the very least I hope they tour the US. But I'm really hoping for a new album.

Honestly, I liked them a lot more post-Martin. Angel Dust is an amazing album, but they did a lot of good things after that.

Besides, Jon Hudson is a great guitar player and already knows the songs. I am very, very, very excited about this.

That lineup is fine by me. Like others have said, I also prefer the post-Martin material (though I still like The Real Thing and really like Angel Dust). Much of what they play will probably be from their last 2 albums, which Martin probably wouldn't want to play.
