Falling in love with the G Spot

Yup. Guitar. I started off with the bass. And I still LOVE playing the bass. But for the past year or so I've more often than not reached for the Strat rather than the Jazz in my spare time. It's not even a conscious effort. After playing the guitar seriously for a year I've realized the guitar helps to convey my emotions more than the bass does. And I kinda feel guilty about it.
Is there something I'm missing? I know I'll never stop playing the bass. But I feel like playing the bass only when I'm jamming with other people. When I'm alone I ALWAYS reach for the guitar.
I know this isn't really a query and it probably doesn't even belong in TB but I just wanted to get this off my chest.
Thanks.

It's all good. It depends how pretentious you are about your music and your instruments. If someone wants to somehow infer that you are some sort of 'traitor' then really that's not your problem. Like you, I also reach for a 6 or 12 string acoustic, plug in the PRS or even diddle on the banjo. Bass is my one true love though, but that doesn't make your choices any less legitimate.

Play what you like. There's nothing wrong with that.

The instrument is irrelevant I think( more so as time goes by).
It's merely the tool we use to express ourselves musically.
If you like playing music play it on what ever you like playing on.

I play bass, guitar (electric, steel string acoustic, and nylon string acoustic), drums, and a little piano/keyboard.

I kind of rotate them, depending on how I feel. I try to play each instrument at least a couple of times a week for a few minutes...though I've been slacking lately on the nylon-string guitar and piano. I need to get off this forum and go practice.

I am a bass player at heart though. I enjoy it the most.
