Family member musicians (pic of my dad's band, circa 1947)

Was going through some photos with the family today and ran across these.

My dad is the piano player.
He was a sophomore or junior in HS in a band with WWII vets. I'm thinking he got quite an education.

Several of the members had played or went on to play with the Charlie Fisk Orchestra, which, according to my dad, was a pretty big deal at the time.

He is turning 80 next month and hasn't played in years, but thinks that it's cool that I continue to play regularly.

Who else has family members who are musicians?
Post pics if you have them.

Great pics! I love those music stands. Real futuristic, a la 1950 or so!

Those are really cool pictures to have, amazing. I can't find any pictures (wish I had some) but I remember my mother jamming with my Uncle Dave and Aunt Candice when I was around 6 or 7 years old in the early 70's - I was hooked!

Here's my Great Grandmother Wooley playing her accordion - lower left. She was quite a musician. I have her guitar and play it occassionally.

My grandfather. He died some time back, but was very happy when I got serious about music via the bass.

Those are great. Other than a church piano player or two there aren't any musicians in my family.

Ermmm, my younger brother plays guitar (like all 13-year-olds...) but apart from that I'm the only musician I know of in my family.

I dont have any pix of granpa but he played a trombone, which was antique when he got it, then was ancient when I played it in jr high. I still have it.
Im told my natural father( aka sperm donor) was a musician, so its in the blood.
Then my brother was playing guitar beforw his stroke, he will be playing again though. He kept his Schecter, and then me on bass...
