This is in the wrong forum, this is the basses forum for 'basses' you might want to try re-posting it in the 'Recordings' forum, or wait for a mod to move it..

this is in the wrong forum... but I'm gonna answer it anyways

I would have to say either Shyboy by David Lee Roth, Flow My Tears by Stu Hamm, or anything by Victor Wooten. both are very great riffs and also very challenging.

those work for a 4 string but get above that & you can't beat any Primus or anything by Jean Baudin

alright...I'm going to sound cliche, but forgive me. I've just started listening to Jaco, and I'd have to say my favorite bassline would have to be Portrait of Tracy...man, that song is beautiful...

Pink Floyd's "Money" - way back when I first learned that, it opened my eyes (and ears)!

I'm not sure if I agree with the selections or the order, but there's a website that has the "100 Greatest" listed. It's pretty cool-- the list does capture the bulk of great bass lines for rock anyway.

Here's a link:

My fave is the one by Scottie Clark and the Clueless Five for the song; 'I may not know where to correctly post threads but I'll always love you'...

Awesome. I get to be the first to post that my favorite bassline is the song "Kiss" by Prince.
