Does anyone have a favorite cleaning product they can recommend for my 77 Jazz?

I like Lizard Spit's products.

I also use the Ernie Ball Wonder Wipes for the body and fretboard.

For the overall body/headstock: Dunlop 65 polish. I use Dr.Stringfellow/Kyser lemon oil for cleaning and conditioning the fretboard. Works well with my 74 Jazz, anyway.

Water on a soft cloth to clean
Mirror Glaze #7 to polish (only needed when selling basses)
Am afraid that cleaning the fingerboard will erase some of the funk!

Dr Duck's Ax Wax which is just a good smelling oil. Leaves my bass clean, shine and smelling good!

I really like Dunlop 01 fretboard cleaner and prep for getting the gunk off of a really well-used fretboard. It cuts right through the grime and grease...

Of course, it dries out the fretboard pretty good, so I always use some lemon oil or GHS Fast Fret to moisturize the fretboard afterwords.

I just picked up the Fender Care kit made by the car polish folks Meguiar's.

Love the results I got.

For stubborn calcium and lime stains in your home's bath area try CLR. It also works on clogged faucets, shower heaeds and geting rid of the gunk that collects around the base of faucets.

There were already enough good suggestions posted to clean your electric bass.

boiled linseed oil is good on unfinished wood. it will slightly darken the way wet wood darkens but when it dries it also brings out the highlights--think dodge highlights on photoshop.

Been there. Not quite as bad as those "friends" with acidic body chemistry that play for 2 minutes and leave you with instantly dead strings.. Waitaminit, next time I'll hand them a bass with flatwounds, since I want those to be as dead as possible!

As far as cleaning:
Gibson Guitar Polish (non-invasive)
Stewart-MacDonald Preservation Polish (deep cleaning)
Stewart-MacDonald Fretboard Finishing Oil (no more frequently than every two years, on rosewood fingerboards or similar)

You're supposed to clean them?
