So whats your favorite?
I'd say mine is vol. 4. How can you not love supernaut? Such a great song.

But for me, SBS has always stood out among the rest.

I think they stepped up their game so much in that album. With the first 2 albums being such big hits, they put their all into the recording of this one.
Children of the Grave
Lord of this World
Then it ends with my favorite Sabbath song, Into the Void.

Up into the night sky they blast,
Through the universe the engines whine,
Could it be the end of man and time?
That song is sick!! That's my favorite Sabbath song too. Along with a National Acrobat off SBS. However Masters of Reality gets my vote.

Given the $$'s, now, I'll go with BLACK BOX!

I saw Sabbath with Ozzy fronting last year for the first time at the Download festival in the UK, man, they blew me away!!! What a FAT sound they have live!!
I love this band though, and happy whenever sabbath are rocking the airwaves!! |

I can't really pick one out of those, so I voted for Vol. 4. The first Sabs album I bought was in 1970.. none other than Master of Reality. I still have that LP- with the shrinkwrap on it- the retail price was $4.57. I just bought the album because of the cover- I was in 8th grade and thought it looked cool. It knocked me out then, and I still am when I hear it. Vol. 4, if you can overlook "Changes" (Ha!!) has some amazing tunes on it. "Snowblind".. "Tomorrow's Dream".. "Supernaut".. and I always liked "Laguna Sunrise" for what it was.
The liner photos were nice- I loved that famous pic of Geezer with the Dan Armstrong plexiglass bass.. who didn't??
Somehow, this is my favorite one of the three- the studio sound the band captured was magical.
I used to show the SBS cover to my younger brothers and scare them! That album is great.. title cut, "Spiral Architect", "A National Acrobat".. and on. Loved it.
