I just watched the R30 Concert and they ended with Living In The Limelight and it got me thinking. "What is the best 'overall' rush song?"
I've liked "limelight" for a long time, but I've also been crazy about 'xanadu'.
any other thoughts??? taking into consideration bass, lyric and overall composition....
I'll turn this into a poll later....

Probably Anthem...
However, Xanadu, La Villa Strangiato and Hemespheres are so close it is hard to tell.
And I have to comment, the sound on the Brazil stuff is unbelieveable! So much bottom end and mid out of Geddy's bass...I have seen them live probably 8 - 10 times and musically, I don't think they have ever sounded better.....

If the gun is to my head and I have to pick, I'd probably pick either La Villa Strangiato or Natural Science.

so many eras with different flavours:
early rush - i really like Bacchus Plateau from Caress of Steel and By-Tor from Fly by Night
mid-rush - anything from Permanent Waves, but perhaps Different Strings and Entre Nous
late-mid-rush - Red Barchetta and Between The Wheels and Analog Kid
art-rock-rush - Emotion Detector, Presto and definitely The Pass
return-to-rock-rush : Between Sun and Moon, Dog Years, Totem, How It Is
so yeah, my favourite...

so yeah, my favourite... | See, I had thoughts like that too....how can you pick just one, especially since their music is rather diverse...and all good...so I bit the bullet and chose Anthem as that is the one rumbling round in my skull lately...
But you pretty much nailed the best way to pick....
+100!
