No grind?

I couldn't choose a favourite one type. So I voted carrot.

Melodic Death Metal is my main choice. I like someblack metal, lots of power metal, thrash metal, progressive metal, and folk metal. Cant stand numetal, glam-metal. I think most metalcore bands suck, but some are pretty good (yes, I do like trivium, even they're new stuff, despite being complete sellouts by jumping on a 'thrash revival', theyre new album is very solid).

Currently I've been getting really into Chthonic's stuff (Taiwanese black/death/gothic metal band). Nothing amazing for bass but the overall mix is really good. They're like Dimmu Borgir, but with a good guitarist, darker orchestral sounds, and a erhu(chinese violin) player.

Voted carrot metal because while I am extremely picky about what metal I listen too. I don't really care which subgenre

I voted carrots...because so many bands bridge so many spectrums of metal, it's almost impossible to nail any one band to a particular sect of metal.

No clue. I love thrash, heavy, death, power, and speed metal. I get in different moods, so I can't always listen to the same thing.

I would have made that a multiple choice poll.

I voted thrash metal, since I was raised on the likes of Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer etc and I enjoy nothing more than listening to that kind of metal.

But I went through a Slipknot phase in 04-05 and lately I've been getting into Mudvayne's new stuff, Dream Theatre and Nightwish...whatever genre they are.

There are bands from most genres that I like a lot, but I couldn't pick a favorite. I've got a soft spot for black metal though. And just to make this thread more metal, I'll post an awesome link:
