I've always been partial to some of Grace Jones' album covers, in particular this one :

I read in a Paul Simonon interview somewhere that he always regretted smashing up that particular P-Bass since it was his best player at the time.
The cover and the contents are classic. I still have the vinyl... somewhere.

I went to Bass pro shop and to my surprise they didn't have a single bass guitar.

There's a YouTube video of that interview, it's quite entertaining.

I see School's Out has been mentioned and it was pretty cool, but the day I found my dad's copy of Muscle of Love was one of those "a-ha" moments in becoming addicted to rock'n'roll.

The brown cardboard box with the pictures of the sailors in the daytime/nightime is freaking awesome...throw in a midget pimp and a hooker-gorilla-in-a-whig and you've got the greatest vinyl album cover of all time right there.

...Sammy Hagar parachuting onto the Capitol Lawn with pointy guitar in hand was also pretty sweet.

Someone had to bring out the Heino. And that someone would be JimmyM!

I have a lot of favorites, but off the top of my head, here are three.

Frank Zappa's "Weasels Ripped My Flesh."

Captain Beefheart's "Trout Mask Replica."

Steve Vai's "Flex-Able." (There were four different versions, but I like this one.)

I do believe London Calling was voted number 8 in Rolling Stones greatest 500 albums of all time. As a matter of fact I'm looking at the issue right now.

The Blue Note jazz label had famously stylish graphics. In the hippie era, Elektra Records always had good cover art and photography.

As mentioned, Cal Schenkel's work for Zappa was great. So were Neon Park's paintings for Little Feat.
