Who is your favourite female musician?

I'm nominating Norah Jones. Wow.

type in norah jones and then choose discography. check out her albums. she wrote at max 3 jams on each album. some of which are CO-Writes. With The Little Willies she didn't write any of the jams.

How many of you actually like these female artists for their singing/song writing/playing and not for their looks?

I can't think of any that I like. Sorry. =/

I wish more girls would be in metal bands, but I guess the genre kind of pushes them away (something to do with nerdy teenagers, I think).

I really like Paz Lenchantin. Her work with APC is pretty damn good. I think she could hang with Tool.

The fact that when I saw her, she was playing topless with shamrocks painted over her boobs was a huge plus. But I didn't know who she was before I saw APC live, but I knew what she was playing and I liked it.

If you like Norah Jones' musicianship...you really, really, need to check out her sister, Anoushka Shankar. Whew!

Pianist Joanne Brackeen is awesome...Carla Bley, too.

Then there's drummers Terri Lynn Carrington & Cindy Blackman.

Norah, Ravi, and Anoushaka are all related.

Ravi is their father. Norah and Anoushka have different mothers.

I did not know that, i'll have to check her out then.

All I know is that seeing those two together was a religious experience.

of course, 3.5 dried grams of psilocybin cubensis might have been part of it.
