For you, who is it ? Not talking about the fastest licks, but about the greatest feel, tone and overall insertion in the band.

For me: Billy Gibbons hands down. The guy lays down mad solos, not because they are complicated, but because they boogie like nothing else in the blues/rock form, period. He basically took the raw, dirty and soulfull sound of the old masters (Hooker, James and Johnson) and made it readily available in a more modern and accessible form to rock fans of all backgrounds. That takes serious talent. The fact that he doesn't take himself seriously at all, is playful with his music and is still touring are testament to his skills.

George Harrison is probably seond on my list, followed by Alex Lifeson.

Alex Lifeson is a really good choice, but I also really like Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) and, of course, my favorite master of the simple note, B.B. King.

Yeah, I forgot about Howe. I'm not a huge fan this music in general, but he certainly has great compositional and interpretation skills.

Forgot about him. Unique style and voice. I'm not into the whole airy, synth based Dire Straits (could say the same for ZZ Top) though. I've yet to see someone play Sultans with the same emotion and power that Mark did.

Mark Knopfler gets my vote.
Carlos Santana (though I'm burned out on how much of him I hear on the radio).
And Jerry Garcia and Duane Allman, RIP.
