Favourite lyric lines

What are some of your favourite lines from music? My all time favourite is Dave Mustaine on the song "Take no Prisoners" by Megadeth:

"Don't ask what you can do for your country, ask what your country can do for you."

JFK reversed, duh, it's just the way he says it, everytime I hear it I think 'brilliant!'

The beatles have a ton of good lines too, EX - everything from lucy in the sky with diamonds.

What are some of your favourite lyrics and/or lyric exerpts?

This is kinda hard to describe...

If a man is considered guilty
For what goes on in his mind
Just give me the electric chair
For all my future crimes

-----Prince, Electric Chair from the Batman Soundtrack

My road is not always easy
Nobody said it would be
And if you use the word "perfect",
I know you're not referring to me

-----Fred Hammond, I Press from Purpose By Design CD

Every Day Is A Winding Road by Cheryl Crow:

I hitched a ride with a vending machine repair man
He says he's been down this road more than twice
He was high on intellectualism
I've never been there but the brochure looks nice

Stealing People's Mail by Dead Kennedys:

We got license plates, wedding gifts, tax return / Checks to politicians from real estate firms / Money, bills and canceled checks / Pretty funny pictures of your kids / We’re stealing people’s mail / On a Friday night / We’re stealing people’s mail / By the pale moonlight / We got grocery sackful after grocery sackful / After grocery sackful after grocery sackful / After grocery sackful after grocery sackful / Of the private lives of you / Ha Ha / People say that we’re crazy / Sick and all alone / But when we read your letters / We’re rolling on the floor / We got more license plates, wedding gifts, tax returns / Checks to politicians from real estate firms / Money, bills and canceled checks / We cut relationships with your friends / We’re gonna steal your mail / On a Friday night / We’re gonna steal your mail / By the pale moonlight

Drug Me by Dead Kennedys:

Drug me - with natural vitamin C / Drug me - with pharmaceutical speed / Drug me - with your sleeping pills / Drug me - with your crossword puzzles / Drug me - with your magazines / Drug me - with your **** machines / With a fountain of fads / More rock and roll ads… / Drug Me Drug Me Drug Me Me Me / Finally off of work / Unwind, and watch the ball game at the bar / Another potato chip weekend / Is here at last / Go away Go away Go away Go away / Go away leave me alone / So I can’t see myself /

"T Minus Whenever it feels right"

Artist: Clutch
Album: Clutch
Song: Spacegrass

THAT'S the ultimate lyric.

Another awesome Clutch lyric, "I'm going to find my executioners, and show them exactly what it means to live." From 10,000 witnesses.

Oh lord I love Clutch! You forgot this "the mob goes wild" exerpt...

Condoleeza Rice is nice, but I prefer A-Roni.
And that man on the T.V. who speaks to the dead, you know that man's a phony.
Everybody move to Canada and smoke lots of pot.
Everybody move to Canada right now. Here's how we do it:
Bum rush the border guard before he and his dog ever knew it.

I have squandered my resistance,
For a pocketful of mumbles, such are promises.

Twilight Zone...

All these years I never knew what the song was about until I had to sing it in a band.

I'm falling down a spiral - destination unknown
A double-crossed messenger - all alone
I can't get no connection, can't get thru, where are you?

Well the night weighs heavy on his guilty mind -
This far from the borderline
And when the hit man comes, he knows damn well he has been cheated…

There's a truckload there, ahem.....

" Hands down the illest ventriliquist this side of the mississippi river"

"he asked me for a dollar, I said what is it for , he said I have seen them, I said ok it's yours"

I see red.
It hurts my head.
Guess it must have been something,
That I read!

Weaker now, drawing fluid from me
(You) kill me
I'm not afraid of what you have just done
(But of) what you've just become

This one not so much for lyrics but way its done...

Opeth. The Drapery Falls

Pull me down again
And guide me into pain

but second time he says this line he replaces pain with a soft scream like singing... i thought it was done soo freaken well and powerful....

And n*ggas always gotta high cap
Showin’ all his boys how he shot em
But real gangsta-ass n*ggas don’t flex nuts
Cuz real gangsta-ass n*ggas know they got em
--
Real gangsta-ass n*ggas don’t talk much
All ya hear is the bang from the gun blast
And real gangsta-ass n*ggas don’t run from sh*t
Cuz real gangsta-ass n*ggas can’t run fast
--
Now I got the world swingin’ from my nuts
Damn it feels good to be a gangsta

Ghetto boys - "Damn it feels good to be a gangsta"

Yes it's from Office Space

I love that song
