FedEx Claims Another One

I got my Dean EAB back from Dean repaired under warranty, but FedEx decided the box wasn't pretty enough. There are two nice boot prints on the box and a slight gouge in the back of the bass that can be seen on the outside and inside. There are also gouges in the shipping box and bass box that correspond to the damage. I hope Dean insures their shipments!

Is it really worth the hassle for you? It looks like a pretty small ding from that photo.

That said that something should be done about the guys from fedex booting your parcel around. Its just not right.

You're probably right, but it's the principle of the matter. It's a brand new bass with a crack that goes through the wood. What will happen to it in the long run? Probably not a lot since I don't bang my instruments around.

Here's the boot prints.

And the gouges.

I see what you mean about it going through the from front to back. I didn't realise it was an acoustic bass.

Anyway if thats the case it will need a little patch work not a big job.You know just in case it gets bigger. But I'd tell the repair dude to charge whatever he wants and send the bill to FedEx. Definitely ring them up and kick up a fuss over it.
