FedEx shipping info on website

I had a bass shipped FedEx Ground to me from the East Coast(I am out West) last Friday. Impatient nag that I am, I have been tracking the package online. But I am a bit confused. The tracking info is stuck at Feb 10. Just how often is the info updated on their website?

I'm not a big fan of FedEx tracking. The last thing I had delivered by them showed no activity expect origin and delivery.

I played hookey from work today as FedEx is supposed to deliver a combo amp and ext cab to me today. Tracking shows no activity except the origin. FedEx won't leave it on the porch like UPS will so someone has to be here until it's delivered. Might as well be me. I'll need to inspect the package and test the amp to make sure it works properly anyway, right?

It's on the same truck, so there is no need to update the tracker. Common when something is shipped ground from one coast to another.

One of the reasons Express > Ground is that the tracking is more complete and timely. At most you'll get updates with Ground each time the package hits a major hub, which can easily be spaced several days apart if it's going cross country. In my case I'll often see one entry from Illinois or somewhere in the midwest, then Spokane or the Portland station would be the next one. That transit takes around 4 days usually, but it can easily be longer.

If they won't leave a package, either that's on the vendor (not FedEx), or because of a perceived security problem at your location. FedEx Ground always leaves packages here unless they're sent Signature Required.

I got something shipped to me from CA in December. I got an update when it left CA, and then not another one until a few days later when it got to NJ.
