The Fender Bass Handbook by Paul Balmer

I just recieved the new book, The Fender Bass by Paul Balmer, and have to say that it is a pretty nice read. Really nice photos too. It covers practically every Fender and Squier bass ever made. However, I was really dissapointed that there was not not word written about the Highway One series. Considering these have actually survived through 2 generations of changes, there is not a word about them in the book. I found that pretty odd. Overall though, a really cool book.

I have the book, also. I don't think it was intended to have thorough coverage of all the current models. The Highway Ones are a bit of a mix of the American Standard and the better Mexican instruments, and they probably feel that the instruments already in the book cover the Highway Ones adequately from the standpoint of hardware and setup.

I was surprised at how much space they gave the Squier instruments.
