Actually, Fender has done well by every company they have acquired in the past few years, except for DeArmond.

I'm actually happy about this. Fender ownership means my local stores will probably start to carry Tacomas. Maybe a Thunderchief is needed to celebrate

I hope they don't change tacomas acoustic guitars. Don't mess with perfection

No - DeArmond's name was already their property, and they simply revitalized it for a new line of stuff.

But did they have to market DeArmond stuff as SQUIER??? You can't use that name for a thousand dollar instrument. It just doesn't fit.

They did a pretty nice job with Gretsch which was pretty much the only company I cared about them buying out. Some people even said the guitars got better. It does seem like Fender is buying everything though, pretty much a company a year, or maybe even more.

So......................Does that mean I'll have to go to Fender for replacement parts for my Toyota truck now?

Yeah, Fender seems to do okay. Gibson...not so much. But, y'know, I haven't seen a rush for "Pre-Fender" SWR gear. Much as there hasn't been a huge problem with "Pre-Washburn" Eden stuff.

In my opinion, Gibson gave the buyout a bad name. Not like they're the first or anything, but I hear more "Pre-Gibson" than any other "pre" prefix.

Fender should buy gibson and re-open Trace.
