Fender Double Gig bag

Just a heads up to anybody thinking about getting this fender bass guitar double gig bag. The shoulder straps used on the bag break easily. Otherwise the bag is fine.

I simply replaced the shoulder straps on it with shoulder straps from one of my old gig bags and those straps are holding up fine.

It's been a long time since I've seen a decent gigbag from Fender. Maybe I'm just a pessimist, but I worry about this one, too.

The Fender gigbags I got back in the '80's were good stuff, nice and sturdy. Good materials. Good workmanship. I still have one or two of them around. I quit using them when I switched to my Levy's double bag. But every Fender product I've bought after about '95 came in a flimsy back that was poorly sewn. Thinner material and poor workmanship equals a lasting bad impression for me.

I've been using mine for about 6 years now. Probably not the best-built gig bag in the world, but it's served me well. Two of the zipper handles have broken off, but I just replaced them with key rings. I noticed they've added a pocket at the top of the bag; wonder what that's for?

Agreed, that what i had to do.
Not because it broke but because with two basses in there the narrow strap almost cut my shoulder off
