I don't know if this has been posted but it is a good read. It seems a little pro marketing tool to me for some reason though.
At the time of the "tour" Fender made the necks for MIM basses in the US and shipped them to the Mexico plant for finishing.

I upgraded the pickups and the bridge but other than that it's a machine. I have gotten rid of USA Fenders, USA Music Man basses, and plethora of other basses that didn't sound as good as this one. |
