a few questions about ear training

Sign in to disble this ad
ive been practicing my ear at a website called www.good-ear.com and it seems to be helping, very simple and to the point.

Intervals im makeing progress with, but hearing pitches and notes is a different story. I heard a good idea is when you hear a note you should associate it with a colour and it will help you remember it for example, if you play an "A" think of green or if you play a "C" think of orange. i was wondering if this actually works and if i should apply something similair to intervals?

any tips? advice? comments? concerns?

I'm not sure how you separate intervals from hearing pitches and notes. You'll have to elaborate for your question to make sense, at least to me.

what I mean is, if someone played the root of a chord and then the 5th, i would be able to hear it. But if somoene played an "A" i would not be able hear that is an "A" rather then a "G" or "B"...
