Finding bands

Sign in to disble this ad
I was just wondering if anyone here could enlighten me on how you find bands that you play with. I tried to get in on one that was starting up, with less than stellar results.

I was in several bands in High School and have laid low for the past 6-7 years and would like to get back in it, but just don't know how.

Any advice?

Put up adds at local shops and ask the employees if they know anyone that has an opening.
Also, look around online. A radio station in my town has a locals section on its website where people can post adds looking for bands or bands looking for musicians. Maybe there is something like this in your area.

Go to your local live music clubs, introduce yourself to the bandmembers on break and after the show, telling them you're looking. Sit in whenever you can. Go to local blues jams.
