Finding out 1993 Ibanez Soundgear Model

Sign in to disble this ad
I just got an Ibanez SR in trade, and the original owner didn't know the model number (SRxxx). I've found how to date them, but not really how to figure out what model it is. I know I've been to a website that shows all the various Ibanez bass (and guitar) models, but Googling various things didn't help.

Anywhoo, it's a 1993 SR series, Emerald green, 3-band with midsweep, active PU's, 24 frets, matching painted neck, and real Gotoh tuners. For some reason, I'd just really like to know what model I got, cuz it's a damn good one.

sounds like you have the same question i've been trying to get an answer to. it also sounds like the same bass , except mine is an '89. i have had this thing for a while and i love it , my wife will probably have to have me buried with it when my time comes....LOL.

i think i have been to the same site you were speaking of ...i read somewhere that the only way find the model # is to remove the neck from the body, and the model number is printed under there. i just never have been brave enough to try it on mine yet....

hey , i just found the site i think you were talking about.....ibanezrules.com. click on rescources at the top of the page , then click on catalog library, then click your year. it will show you the brochure for your bass and you can go by the pics somewhat to determine what model it is.
i just discovered my sr1000e had a list price of $999 , i almost pooped myself....LOL.

good luck,
Jason
