Yeah they suck, I heard some BS about the singer from an inside source. He is a high drama jerk. Complied with the fact I don't like their music, I really don't have anything nice to say about them.

I don't think the cover was that great either. But I had a chance to see them live recently and I gotta say, they were pretty good.

I have heard garage bands play that song better. I do not understand how it gets so much air play.

No one is going to sing that song better than Paul Rodgers, so why cover it?...Oh yeah...$$$...

I can see why their version is popular (kind of), but it's not "my thing."

Um... I couldn't care what the radio says is popular, right now. The people don't control that. We get force fed bull$#!+ daily. You don't know that yet?

They should have left it alone, the same way Metalicrud should have left Turn the Page alone.

It's not just the vocal. The music blows, as well.

True. The first time I heard it, I was waiting for an inspired guitar solo, or something to justify covering the song. The cover just fails in every way.

The thing I noticed about FFDP is that they seem like a throwback to the late '90s/early '00s type of radio hard rock.

i appreciate cover songs. regardless if they did it justice or not is for the public to decide. the point of a cover is to take an original song and put your spin on it. by definition FFDP did that. i remember a few years ago fall out boy did a cover of 'roxanne', and later 'beat it'. atreyu did 'you give love a bad name'. a cd series called 'punk goes' is nothing but covers of classic rock, metal, 80s, 90s, even pop. even new found glory released 'from the screen to your stereo' volumes 1 and 2. the point is a cover shouldnt get a bad rep because its not like the original....because its not supposed to be. if it sound exactly like the original then its just a remake not a true cover IMO.

Just saw 5FDP at the Mayhem Festival in Tampa... I'm not a fan of their music because it gets monotonous, but they're pretty entertaining to see live. I liked the cover, but the lead singer's voice just isn't my thing...

Wow... That was almost hard to watch/listen to.

At least they have a cool band name!

I enjoy a lot of covers. But the way they did theirs is to close to the original but not as good , and it isn't original enough to be good. I have heard a lot of bar bands cover that song and do it just as good as they do and some that do it way better. But they are not getting air time or big bucks ether. I think that is what bothers people.

I actually liked Metallica's cover

But I agree that 5FDP sucks, and COMPLETELY butchered this song.

EDIT: For another bad cover, check out The Killers' version of Hotel California. They live up to their name...
