Fixing my headphones

Sign in to disble this ad
My headphone is broke, I only have sound in the left "ear". I'm pretty sure it is the little jack that is broken. I'm considering replacing that jack by the one of an old headphone I have here somewhere. Is this possible? What should I look out for?
Anyone here has done this?

Cheers

Confirm it is the jack end and not the end of the cable that is closest to the earbud(or perhaps the earbud itself died).

How much were these headphones anyway? Do you really want to invest a few hours of goofing around with small wires in the first place?

The old ones have a dead earbud, and weren't much worth anyway. The ones I want to fix are really good, but it's a shame the jack is partially broken. I'm sure of that because it used to be ok if you pressed against the jack end.
