I knew about his illness (multiple sclerosis), but never thought he was going to leave us so early. He has the honor of being the drummer on the Iron Maiden album that many consider the band's magnum opus: "The Number Of The Beast", which actually was his last contribution to the band. This was the first time I saw Iron Maiden in my life and one of the things I liked to watch the most from the video was Clive's performance:

RIP.

Seriously sad stuff.

Such a shame to be brought down from that height of kick ass metal youth with a debilitating illness.

My old bandmate in Desperado... lovely guy, he made me laugh so hard every day, had amazing stories of Maiden and he was so much fun to play with. He, Bernie Torme, and Dee Snider gave this 18 year old kid a shot and I was honoured to have worked with him. Really sad to lose him. RIP.
