i may go see them when they come through san antonio, not sure.. the Cadillac Bar is really not much of a place to play nor a place you really want to go see a band, but i may go anyway.
cheers

I owned a couple of their albums during the mid-70s, and saw them briefly at a festival in 1974. Amazing.

Mahogany Rush, Mountain, Cactus, Spirit (Randy California) and, of course, Terrible Ted and the Amboy Dukes.

He looks a little like Robin Trower...and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Of course, maybe that's just road wear...

Marino was and is a total prick, having turfed those two guys. They are the true band.
Kinda like Alex Lifeson ditching Geddy Lee and Neil Peart and calling the band Rush.

I had a chance to try out Paul's rig at Tempos Studio in Montreal while practicing for a tour. I went to school with Paul's brother Rick, also a bass player. I sold Rick a Fender Super Bassman and Acoustic cab.
As for Jimmy Ayoub, I know his brother (also a drummer who gigs in Montreal) as well, and knew Vince Marino (also a guitarist of similar calibre to Frank). That 66 Jazz I bought was from Vince's bass player.
Wow...long ago and far away.

| | | | I was a huge fan of them way back when. I remember when Maxoom came out. Great music still sounds good today.
I saw them live at Geauga Lake near Cleveland at a free music festival.
They came on a blew everyone away. They were even better live- amazing show. |
